Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to modify the hopper funnel, chopper knife, output filter, outputchamfer, dimensions of mini chopper, and determine the effective capacity of the modifiedmini chopper. The method in this study is to make design modifications, the implementationof engine manufacturing, and engine performance testing. Mini chopper testing samples usingstraw and water hyacinth. The dimensions of the Marsel mini chopper are 112 cm, width 47cm and height 80 cm, using a Honda WZ 20 combustion motor engine to produce a rollerrotation number (n2) of 1466.66 rpm and a V-Belt speed on the roller blade of 5.85 m/s. Theresults of straw chopping 1.23 kg/minute and water hyacinth 2.03 kg/minute. The length ofstraw cut 1-5 cm and hyacinth 1-3 cm.
