Effectivity of Soursop Leaf Extract (Annona muricata L.) as an Organic Insecticide to Control Leptocorisa acuta in Paddy Fields

Abstract

The presence of Leptocorisa acuta in paddy fields can decrease up to 50 percent on rice productivity. Eco-friendly pest management using organic insecticide is needed to maintain of rice production. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the soursop leaf insecticide on the mortality of L. acuta. This study was conducted from February to April 2022 at the Teaching Farm of paddy fields of Lampung State Polytechnic. This study used a randomized block design with 8 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested included: k0=Control; The concentrations of soursop leaf extract: k1=5%, k2=10%, k3=15%, k4=20%, k5=25%, k6=30%, k7=35%, and k8=40%. Organic insecticides from soursop leaf extract with a concentration of 10 – 40% were effective in L. acuta controlling. This is indicated by significant differences in the percentage of efficacy, LT50, total grain, total grain amount, empty grain, and panicle-filled grain.
