The role of a leader has an impact on discipline and employee performance, as well as the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs of Merauke Regency with employee performance not in accordance with what the organization wants, this makes the work less than optimal and not completed on time, there are also employees who extend the time take a break, because this issue makes leadership less effective. This ineffectiveness describes a leader in his role that is less assertive in guiding employees for that this research was carried out. The quantitative method is the method used in this study with a population of 50 employees and the sample is the entire population. The SPSS application is supported by testing the validity and reliability as well as multiple linear regression using partial and simultaneous testing and the coefficient of determination. So the results of this study if the leadership style and work discipline increase will affect employee performance. Because the figure of a leader must be able to build and improve discipline so that performance will improve by paying attention to consistency and attendance in completing tasks and work responsibilities
