Journal Overview
Musamus Journal of Mathematics Education (MJME) is a national peer-reviewed journal that aims to promote the advancement of research, theory, and practice in mathematics education. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, educators, teachers, and practitioners to disseminate research findings, theoretical perspectives, innovative practices, and critical discussions related to mathematics teaching and learning.
MJME seeks to bridge the gap between educational research and classroom practice by publishing high-quality scholarly works that contribute to the development of mathematics education at various educational levels. The journal welcomes studies addressing current issues, innovations, policies, curriculum developments, instructional practices, assessment, and the integration of technology in mathematics education.
Types of Manuscripts
MJME welcomes and publishes scholarly manuscripts that make a meaningful contribution to the field of mathematics education, including:
- Original Research Articles presenting empirical research, development studies, experimental studies, qualitative or quantitative research, mixed-methods studies, and other rigorous research designs relevant to mathematics education.
- Review Articles providing systematic, critical, or integrative reviews of current research and developments in mathematics education.
All submitted manuscripts must demonstrate academic rigor, methodological clarity, originality, and relevance to the field of mathematics education.
Scope of the Journal
The scope of MJME covers research and scholarly studies in mathematics education from both theoretical and disciplinary perspectives. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Mathematics Teaching and Instruction
Innovative teaching strategies, instructional models, pedagogical approaches, classroom practices, and instructional design in mathematics.
- Mathematics Learning
Students' mathematical thinking, conceptual understanding, problem-solving, reasoning, mathematical communication, representation, and other aspects of mathematics learning.
- Curriculum and Curriculum Development in Mathematics Education
Mathematics curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, curriculum innovation, and curriculum policy at various educational levels.
- Assessment, Evaluation, and Measurement in Mathematics Education
Mathematics assessment, educational evaluation, measurement, learning outcomes, assessment instruments, and assessment practices.
- Mathematics Teacher Education and Professional Development
Teacher knowledge, teacher competencies, teacher education, professional development, teaching practices, and issues related to mathematics teachers.
- Educational Reform and Policy in Mathematics Education
Educational reforms, mathematics education policies, instructional innovations, and contemporary developments affecting mathematics education.
- Statistics and Data Literacy in Mathematics Education
Statistical thinking, statistical literacy, data literacy, probability education, and the teaching and learning of statistics.
- Ethnomathematics and Cultural Perspectives in Mathematics Education
The relationship between mathematics, culture, local knowledge, indigenous practices, and culturally responsive mathematics education.
- Technology and Digital Innovation in Mathematics Education
The use of digital technology, educational software, interactive learning environments, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented learning environments, and other technological innovations in mathematics teaching and learning.
- Mathematics Education at Various Educational Levels
Research addressing mathematics education from primary and secondary education to higher education and teacher education.
Contribution to Mathematics Education
MJME particularly welcomes manuscripts that offer clear theoretical, methodological, or practical contributions to mathematics education. Studies are expected to demonstrate relevance to current issues in mathematics education and provide implications for researchers, teachers, teacher educators, policymakers, or other stakeholders.
Manuscripts that fall outside the focus and scope of mathematics education or do not demonstrate a clear contribution to the field may be considered unsuitable for publication in MJME.

MJME is committed to supporting the development of mathematics education research and practice through the dissemination of rigorous, relevant, and innovative scholarly contributions.
