Abstract

The problems faced in implementing online learning are the limited ability to adapt and master information technology by teachers and students, inadequate facilities and infrastructure and teachers having difficulty controlling students, unfinished learning on certain subjects being replaced with assignments to students. This study aims to describe and analyze the causes of students' chemistry learning difficulties in terms of internal and external factors in online learning on the colligative properties of solutions at SMA Negeri 1 Tanah Miring. This type of research is descriptive research, using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this research were 38 students from all XII IPA classes. Data were collected using tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that students had a learning difficulty level with a fairly high criterion of 3%, students had an ability level with a high criterion of 10%, students had an ability level with a low criterion of 34%, students had an ability level with shallow criteria 53% this happened because of lack of student mastery of the material colligative properties of solutions. It was found that a fairly high level of difficulty came from internal factors, namely, low interest (33%), motivation (27%), talent (10%), intelligence (35%), self-confidence (50%), health (92%) and external factors that come from the family environment (48%), school environment (93%), community environment (66%).
