Abstrak

This research uses a descriptive type of research (explanatory) with a qualitative approach. In conducting data analysis, the researcher follows several stages consisting of: Data Collection, Data Reduction, Data Display, and Conclusions to identify patterns of explanation. Conclusions are drawn carefully by conducting verification in the field so that the data can be tested for validity. The research results indicate that the indicators of discipline, performance, and supervision implementation of the Loka POM Merauke Regency are quite good, with several aspects being carried out in accordance with the constitution established by the Central POM Agency, such as the supervision plans being conducted using periodic time prospect calculations, discipline in performance, and achievement of results, with the discovery of products that have expired, the results or issues found during inspections are concluded as achievements of the performance that has been planned. The POM Authority in Merauke supervises through surprise inspections and checks, in addition to several related agencies involved in monitoring expired food according to their respective duties and functions. The supervisory function of the POM Agency in Merauke should conduct regular monitoring at various shopping centres involving other parties such as the Health Office and the Public Order Agency to ensure that all food sold to the public or consumers is still safe for consumption. To further legitimise a product, it is advisable for the POM Authority in Merauke to cooperate with halal certification agencies to ensure that all food sold is still suitable for consumption.
