Analisis Saluran Pemasaran Komoditas Bawang Merah di Kecamatan Bolo Kabupaten Bima
Abstract
Shallots are one of the main commodities needed in household and industrial consumption in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the various channels used to market shallots. In addition, this study also analyzes the margins and distribution that exist in each institution involved in the distribution of shallots in Bolo District, Bima Regency. The approach used in this study is descriptive, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The research involved interviews with shallot farmers, intermediary traders, wholesalers, and retailers. The results revealed that there are several marketing channels consisting of four patterns, namely: marketing channel I follows the path from shallot farmers to intermediary traders, then large traders, retailers, and finally to end consumers. Marketing channel II connects shallot farmers directly with large traders, then to retailers and consumers. Marketing channel III involves shallot farmers and retailers before reaching consumers. Meanwhile, marketing channel IV only involves shallot farmers and final consumers. In terms of margins, marketing channel I has a margin of Rp 9,000/kg, channel II of Rp 3,000/kg, channel III of Rp 1,000/kg, and channel IV produces no margin. Therefore, it is important for the government to improve the distribution system and market infrastructure so that shallot marketing margins can increase.
