EVALUASI KUALITAS PENCAHAYAAN ALAMI SEBAGAI INDIKATOR KELAYAKAN HUNIAN DI KAWASAN PERUMAHAN TIPE 36 (STUDI KASUS:PERUMAHAN BERLIAN BLOREP PERMAI III,MERAUKE)
Abstract
Housing as part of the urban settlement system plays an important role in determining the quality of the living environment and residents’ well-being. One of the physical aspects of housing that significantly affects the quality of residential areas is natural lighting, which is closely related to visual comfort, occupants’ health, and energy efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the quality of natural lighting as an indicator of housing livability in a type 36 residential area, with a case study of Berlian Blorep Permai III Housing Estate in Merauke City. A quantitative research method was applied by measuring natural lighting intensity using a lux meter in the main residential spaces. Measurements were conducted during daytime hours and the results were compared with the Indonesian National Standard for lighting, SNI 6197:2011. The findings indicate that most residential spaces exhibit natural lighting levels below the recommended standard. This condition is influenced by limited number and placement of openings, building orientation, and the use of opening materials that reduce light transmission. These results suggest that the quality of natural lighting in type 36 housing within the study area has not fully met the criteria of livable housing. Therefore, greater attention is required in the planning and development of residential areas, particularly in terms of building layout, orientation, and opening design, in order to improve the quality of the residential environment in a sustainable manner.
