Perancangan Dan Pengembangan Meja Kerja Las Adjustable Ergonomis Dengan Sistem Exhaust Di Industri Kecil Menengah
Abstract
This study aims to design and develop an ergonomic adjustable welding workstation equipped with an integrated exhaust system to improve productivity and occupational safety for operators in small and medium industries in Makassar. The research employed an engineering design approach followed by experimental validation involving five operators with varying anthropometric characteristics. The observed parameters included optimal table height, welding time for root pass and weaving methods, and structural performance evaluated using the finite element method. The results indicate that the optimal table height ranges from 93 to 101.4 cm for the 1G position and from 82 to 98.8 cm for the 3G position. The use of the adjustable workstation significantly reduced welding time, with the root pass decreasing from 9 minutes 11 seconds to 4 minutes 32 seconds and the weaving method from 3 minutes 45 seconds to 2 minutes 5 seconds. Structural analysis shows a maximum stress of 154.9 MPa and a displacement of 0.1253 mm, both within safe limits. In addition, the exhaust system effectively reduces welding fume exposure in the work area. Overall, the developed workstation enhances efficiency, ergonomics, and operator safety.
