Abstract
The food estate project in South Papua, aimed at enhancing national food security, has become a controversial topic due to its impacts on local communities. This article analyzes the national food security policy in South Papua from the perspective of community development, focusing on the food estate project. The analysis is based on a literature review and information obtained from YouTube videos about the food estate project in South Papua. This article highlights the potential positive and negative impacts of the food estate project on local communities, particularly regarding land rights, loss of livelihoods, and socio-cultural changes. It also discusses the importance of involving local communities in the planning and implementation of the food estate project to provide greater benefits for them.
