Abstract

One of the agricultural products that has a large enough opportunity to be developed is broccoli, where market demand increases by 15-20% per year. On the other hand, the production of organic agricultural commodities is hampered because vegetable pesticides are difficult for farmers to obtain. Broccoli is produced throughout Indonesia, one of which is cultivated by PORKAB located in Sumberejo Village, Batu City. Organic farming requires a lot of manpower to maintain and a relatively limited market segment. It is an obstacle for organic farmers, so it is necessary to study determinants of production and efficiency. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors that affect production, and efficiency of the production factors. Data were collected from 30 broccoli farmers. Multiple regression analysis with Cobb Douglas function is used to identify determinants of production, and technical, allocative, and economic efficiency formulas. The results showed that land area, manure, and labor had a significant effect on broccoli production, while seeds and vegetable pesticides were not significant. The use of seeds, manure, labor, and vegetable pesticides has been technically efficient, and the area of ​​land, seeds, manure, labor, and vegetable pesticides is allocatively and economically inefficient.
