Membangun Kesadaran Kesetaraan Gender sejak Dini melalui Pendidikan di Lingkungan Sekolah
Abstrak
Gender equality is an important aspect of education that should be introduced from an early age to develop a fair mindset and respect for differences. Schools play a strategic role in promoting these values through learning activities and social interactions. However, gender stereotypes may influence how children understand the abilities, interests, and roles of boys and girls. This article aims to examine the importance of building gender equality awareness from an early age through school education, the forms of gender stereotypes, and the role of schools in creating a fair and inclusive learning environment. This article employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method. The sources consist of books, scholarly journal articles, and publications related to education, gender equality, and child development. The analysis is conducted descriptively by identifying and connecting key ideas from relevant sources. The discussion indicates that gender equality awareness can be fostered through inclusive learning, teachers’ role modeling, equal opportunities, and the practice of respecting every student’s abilities without limiting them based on gender stereotypes. Therefore, schools need to provide an environment that supports children’s optimal development and encourages mutual respect from an early age.
