Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of shadow play training on passing and shooting consistency among U12 students at SSB Independent, Janapria District, Central Lombok.

Materials and Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a one-group pretest-posttest model. The sample consisted of 24 U12 football players selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a passing accuracy test and a shooting accuracy test. The treatment was conducted through shadow play training for four weeks. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to examine differences between pretest and posttest scores.

Results: The results showed that shadow play training significantly improved students’ passing and shooting consistency. The statistical analysis showed a significance value of p = 0.000, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. The improvement showed that repeated movement simulation through shadow play helped players perform passing and shooting techniques more consistently.

Conclusions: Shadow play training had a significant effect on improving passing and shooting consistency among U12 football players at SSB Independent Janapria. This training method can be used as an effective coaching strategy to strengthen basic football techniques, especially in developing movement repetition, muscle memory, and stable technical performance.
