Motivation Level of PAS FC Futsal Players in Facing the 2024 Tournament in Empang District, Sumbawa

Abstract

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the motivation level of PAS FC futsal players in facing the 2024 tournament in Empang District, Sumbawa.

Materials and Methods: This study used a descriptive quantitative survey method. The participants were 12 PAS FC futsal players. Data were collected using a motivation questionnaire consisting of six indicators: strong desire to achieve goals, responsibility, evaluative attitude, risk-taking, creativity and innovation, and preference for challenges. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, median, standard deviation, minimum score, and maximum score.

Results: The overall motivation level of PAS FC futsal players was in the moderate category. Based on each indicator, responsibility, evaluative attitude, and creativity and innovation were generally in the moderate category, while strong desire to achieve goals, risk-taking, and preference for challenges tended to be in the low category.

Conclusions: The motivation level of PAS FC futsal players in facing the 2024 tournament was generally moderate. These findings indicate that although players show sufficient responsibility and creativity, they still need psychological strengthening, especially in goal orientation, courage to take risks, and readiness to face competitive challenges.
