Evaluating educational performance quality of physical education teachers in Maysan Governorate

Abstract

Objectives. The research aims to evaluate the quality of educational performance of physical education teachers in primary schools in Maysan Governorate by identifying the requirements of quality performance, including personal and moral, professional, administrative and organizational, technical, and educational aspects.

 Materials and Methods. The researcher employed a descriptive approach using the survey method to address the research problem. The study sample consisted of 100 randomly selected physical education teachers from primary schools in Maysan Governorate for the academic year 2024–2025. A specially designed questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality of educational performance, and its scientific coefficients were established. The main experiment was conducted on 8/12/2024, and data were statistically analyzed. Results. The study found a lack of sports capabilities and sports equipment in most schools. Additionally, there was a deficiency among physical education teachers regarding the use of appropriate tests and measurements capable of assessing the objectives of physical education lessons.    

 Conclusion. The research highlights the need to address the shortage of sports resources and to enhance the teachers' skills in utilizing evaluative tools to effectively measure educational objectives in physical education classes. This improvement is essential to align educational practices with scientific development and technological advancements.
