Abstract

skills among students participating in the hockey extracurricular program at SMAN 1 Garut. The study employed an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 20 active students in the school hockey extracurricular program, selected through total sampling. Data were collected through dribbling skill tests and measurements administered before and after the intervention. The intervention consisted of eight training sessions conducted twice a week. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Mann-Whitney test with statistical software. The descriptive results showed that the mean dribbling skill score increased from 55.2 at pretest to 86.1 at posttest. The normality test indicated that both pretest and posttest data were not normally distributed. The Mann-Whitney test produced a Z value of -1.908 with a significance value of 0.004. Since the significance value was below 0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, the use of the modified PVC-pipe training aid had a significant effect on improving indoor hockey dribbling skills among students at SMAN 1 Garut. The training aid can serve as a simple and varied alternative for developing dribbling skills in school hockey training.
