Musamus Journal of Mathematics Education (MJME) respects the rights of authors and is committed to ensuring transparent and fair copyright and licensing practices for all published articles.

The copyright and licensing policy of MJME is designed to support the broad dissemination, accessibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly research while ensuring that authors receive appropriate credit for their work.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright of their published work. By submitting and publishing an article in MJME, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make the article available through the journal's website and other appropriate scholarly platforms.

The authors retain the right to use, share, and distribute their published work in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable Creative Commons license, provided that the original publication in MJME is properly acknowledged.

2. Licensing

All articles published by MJME are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers and other users are permitted to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published work for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the original publication in MJME.

Users must provide appropriate attribution, include a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made to the original work.

3. Authors' Rights

Authors retain the following rights to their published work, subject to the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license:

  • To retain copyright ownership of their work.
  • To share and distribute the published article.
  • To deposit the published article in institutional or subject repositories.
  • To use the article for educational and research purposes.
  • To reuse parts of the article in future scholarly works, provided that appropriate acknowledgment and citation are given.
  • To disseminate the published article through personal or institutional academic platforms.

Authors are encouraged to share their published work responsibly while maintaining the integrity of the original publication and providing appropriate citation to MJME.

4. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials owned by third parties when such permission is required.

Materials included in an article that are identified as belonging to a third party may not automatically be covered by the CC BY 4.0 license. Users who wish to reuse such materials are responsible for determining whether additional permission from the copyright holder is required.

5. Attribution and Proper Citation

Any reuse, redistribution, adaptation, or reproduction of an article published by MJME must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s) and source.

Attribution should include, where applicable:

  • The name(s) of the original author(s).
  • The title of the original article.
  • The name of the journal, Musamus Journal of Mathematics Education (MJME).
  • The original publication information and DOI, when available.
  • A link to the original article.
  • A link to the CC BY 4.0 license.
  • An indication of whether changes were made to the original work.

6. Journal and Publisher Rights

MJME and its publisher retain the right to publish, preserve, archive, and disseminate the published version of the article as part of the journal's scholarly publication record.

The journal may also make published articles available through indexing services, digital repositories, scholarly databases, and other appropriate academic platforms to increase the visibility and accessibility of the published research.

7. Copyright Agreement

By submitting a manuscript to MJME, the authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is their original work and has not been published elsewhere.
  • The authors have the authority to grant the rights required for publication.
  • The manuscript does not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • All third-party materials have been properly acknowledged and permission has been obtained when required.
  • The authors agree to the publication and licensing terms of MJME.

Publication of an article in MJME is subject to the journal's editorial policies, publication ethics, and applicable copyright and licensing requirements.

Copyright and Open Scholarly Dissemination

MJME supports the responsible dissemination of scholarly knowledge by allowing authors to retain copyright while making published research widely accessible under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
